Cultural Anthropology involves
numerous sub disciplines in the enterprise of understanding
culture and cultural processes. Dr.
William Jankowiak has worked in the field of Urban
Anthropology and has done work in China, Inner Mongolia and
with Mormons. Dr. Jiemen Bao
studies transnational migration, identity formation and the
practices and politics of class, gender, sexuality and race. Dr.
Pierre
Liénard studies Cognition and culture, evolutionary perspective on culture, biological anthropology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary psychology
and related fields.
While the field of Ethnoarchaeology is often subsumed under
archaeology, it is a prime example of how Cultural
Anthropology interfaces with other disciplines.
Dr.
Lisa Frink applies ethnographic data derived from
field work among Alaskan Native Americans to understand
archaeological data.
