In the Near Eastern Archaeology
Lab artifact assemblages from Cyprus and Jordan are analyzed
by students under the supervision of Dr. Alan Simmons. This
has provided a platform on which several grad students have
based their masters thesis.
Currently excavations continue every summer at the Ais Yorkis
site in southern Cyprus.
Past sessions have taken place at Ain Ghazal a Neolithic site
in north-east Jordan on the outskirts of Amman and at Ghwair
I, a Small but elaborate Neolithic community in southern
Jordan.
