The UNLV
Anthropology Department supports programs for undergraduate,
Masters and Ph.D. track studies. Our graduates at all three
levels have gone on to other universities to continue
their
studies, to teach and conduct research, to work for
governmental agencies and to work in the private sector.
The Anthropology Department prepares students for employment
and post-graduate study by emphasizing a four-field approach.
As a research oriented department students become acquainted
with solutions to practical issues in current anthropology. Interdisciplinary
approaches to complex problems form the basis of research that
benefit the student, the departments involved and the fields
of anthropology.
The Ethnic Studies part of the Anthropology Department supports interdisciplinary programs that expose students to a
variety of practical situations. The focus is particularly
strong in the areas of Linguistics, Asian Studies and Latin
American Studies.
